Field and Laboratory Skills:
Field skills include: surface collecting; excavation of
units by arbitrary or natural levels; recognition and excavation of features; map reading;
site surveying; 35mm photography skills; backhoe and heavy equipment monitoring and
cartography. Laboratory skills include cleaning, sorting, cataloging, classifying,
photographing artifacts and curation. Mr. Wingfield also has been responsible for
processing and sorting flotation samples and the operation of water screens. He has been
responsible for processing, analysis and interpretation of faunal remains. In addition,
his skills include the use of land surveying equipment: surveying transit; level; and EDM.
Mr. Wingfield has been responsible for archival research using a variety of local and
national resources. Mr. Wingfield has been active in all aspects of contract management.
Computer Skills:
Mr. Wingfield has a proficient knowledge of the Windows and
DOS operating platforms. He is experienced in word processing programs (Word and
WordPerfect), spreadsheets (Excel) and database management programs (dBase, Paradox and
Access). Mr. Wingfield has extensive training and experience in a variety of GIS and CADD
applications including: ArcView GIS, MicroStation and AutoCAD.

Archaeological Work Experience
Since 1992, Mr. Wingfield has participated in field
research in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana,
Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West
Virginia. This experience has included field and laboratory work on more than two hundred
phase I surveys, twenty phase II National Register evaluations, and fifteen phase III
mitigation projects. Mr. Wingfield has authored, or co-authored, over one hundred separate
technical reports.
Employee Profile:
Mr. Wingfield has been an employee with Cultural Resource
Analysts, Inc. since April 1995. During this time he served as a field supervisor
for phase I survey level projects. Mr. Wingfield also has participated as a
field technician
and staff archaeologist on phase I survey level projects and phase II National
Register evaluations. From the computer aided drafting of simple site maps
to the development of
complex spatial and relational geographic information systems, Mr. Wingfield
is responsible for the majority of CAD and GIS operations at Cultural Resource
Analysts. Mr.
Wingfield has developed the corporate cartographic symbology for all Department
of Transportation mapping. Mr. Wingfield recently developed a GIS of the archaeology
at the
Bluestone Reservoir for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Huntington District.
The Archaeology at the Bluestone Reservoir GIS package included: an 86 page
report; 8
quadrangles; 126 site descriptions; 98 site photographs; 6 aerial photographs,
74 historic maps; and over 1300 data files. The site descriptions, photographs
and maps were linked to
polygons on the digital quadrangle, which represented the location of the site
on the surface of the Earth. This provided the client with a huge amount of
information about the
cultural resources of the Reservoir all on one small, portable compact disk.
With Mr. Wingield's expertise, Cultural Resource Analysts is able to accept
and produce data
in a variety of map projections, coordinate systems and platforms.
