Catherine Vannatter currently serves as the Director of Marketing and the Office Manager for CRAI’s Kentucky office. She started as an intern at CRAI in 2001 then worked as a Laboratory Technician and Publications Assistant before taking over her present duties. Catherine has a Bachelor’s degree in English from Transylvania University and a Master of Arts degree in cultural anthropology from the University of Kentucky. Her research focused on medical anthropology and access to care, in addition to equity in education.
Catherine briefly left CRAI to teach English in a secondary school, completing a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Eastern Kentucky University. Her thesis centered on interdisciplinary education. Recently, Catherine has also taught anthropology courses at Bluegrass Community and Technical College.
In her free time, Catherine enjoys traveling, working out, and reading. She loves music and survived a trip to Bonnaroo. She also spends time taking care of her dog, Roxanne, and her two cats, Duff and Maleficent.
