| David J. Stephenson has
ten years of archaeological field experience focused in the
Mississippi River Valley and the Ohio Valley. Responsibilities
include conducting fieldwork for phase I, II, and III archaeological
investigations, repository preparation (washing and cataloging)
of collected archaeological materials and mechanical and manual
processing of archaeological flotation samples recovered from
sites.
Mr. Stephenson holds a BA degree in Anthropology from the
University of Iowa and attended the University of Iowa Archaeological
Field School, where he worked on the Gast Farm Site (13LA12)
and Gast Spring Site (13LA152), in Louisa County, Iowa.
To date Mr. Stephenson has participated in, and/or conducted
archaeological surveys in Missouri, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana,
and Kentucky serving as crew chief, field technician, and
research assistant. Mr. Stephenson also served as teaching
assistant for the Archaeology Field School at Cleveland State
University in Cleveland, Ohio.
Mr. Stephenson's computer skills include ArcView GIS, CorelDraw
6, CorelDraw 8, Corel Photo-Paint 8, Microsoft Access, Microsoft
Excel, Microsoft Word, Paradox 7. He also has extensive experience
with Flote Tech A1 flotation processing machine.
He is a member of the Association of Iowa Archaeologists
(AIA), Iowa Archaeological Society (IAS), and the Society
for American Archaeology (SAA).
