Shawn E. Parsons has eight years of archaeological experience as a field technician
working predominantly in the mid-Ohio Valley in West Virginia, Ohio, and Kentucky.
His interests include lithic technology, and settlement pattern and resource
procurement studies.
Mr. Parsons attended West Virginia State College for two years with a focus
in communications. Responsibilities include conducting fieldwork for phase
I, II, and III archaeological investigations, general cleaning and classification
of artifacts in the laboratory, processing flotation samples, and the design,
maintenance and repair of field equipment.
Mr. Parsons began temporary employment with Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc.
in 1998 as a field technician; his full time employment with the company began
in January 2004. Since 1998 he has participated in over 250 phase I surveys
and several phase II and phase III investigations. His work experience includes
survey and excavation at a wide variety of prehistoric sites types, as well
as historic cemeteries and residential and industrial sites.
