| Matthew D. McMahan has over five years of experience in the field of cultural resource management. He began working as an archaeological laboratory and field technician for Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc., in April of 2005. Mr. McMahan currently functions as both an archaeological field supervisor and a cultural historian.
Mr. McMahan earned his B.A. in Anthropology from Western Kentucky University in 2004. While attending WKU, he assisted in piloting Mammoth Cave National Park’s Archaeological Stewardship Program and worked as a laboratory technician for the University. In the summer of 2004, he attended The Pennsylvania State University’s archaeological field school at Annis Village, a Middle Mississippian site in Butler County, Kentucky. Mr. McMahan is currently involved in graduate coursework in the University of Kentucky’s Department of Historic Preservation.
Currently, Mr. McMahan is working on a number of archaeological and architectural reports for projects throughout the Commonwealth. These projects range from phase I archaeological surveys to rural historic landscape assessments.
Outside of work, Mr. McMahan enjoys hanging out at home with his wife and their house pets, collecting music, barbecuing, and wandering around in the woods.
