Kathryne Joseph has been
employed with CRAI since August 2007. She received her Bachelor
of Arts degree in History from Wofford College in Spartanburg,
South Carolina in May 2003. In May 2007, Ms. Joseph received
her Master of Science degree from the Clemson University and
the College of Charleston’s Graduate Program in Historic
Preservation in Charleston, South Carolina.
Prior to working for CRAI, Ms. Joseph was employed as a bookkeeper
and an administrative assistant for a law firm in Charleston,
South Carolina while attending graduate school. During her
undergraduate studies, Ms. Joseph spent a semester abroad
in Rome, Italy and traveled throughout Europe studying the
history, art, and architecture of past civilizations. Ms.
Joseph spent the summer of 2006 as an intern for the Preservation
Society of Charleston to assist in preparation for the Annual
Fall Candlelight Tours of Homes and Gardens. As a volunteer
and member of the Preservation Society of Charleston for the
past few years, Ms. Joseph participated in several fundraising
events and advocacy programs for the organization.
As an Architectural Historian for CRAI, Ms. Joseph’s
responsibilities include researching and documenting historic
properties by conducting archival research and field surveys,
evaluating the significance of historic properties, and preparing
written reports that provide summary findings and recommendations
for various types of cultural historic projects.
