Judy A. Sichler has more than 10 years of practical experience in the field of cultural resource management. She began working for Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc., as a Principal Investigator and Office Manager in October 2010. Prior to that, she served as a Senior Archaeologist and Research Assistant Professor where she supervised of all aspects of archaeological research from the planning, budgeting, implementation, to the analysis phase for historic and prehistoric archaeological projects throughout the Southeast.
Judy holds a B.A. and M.A. in Anthropology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In 2003, she was awarded a Ph.D. in Anthropology with a specialization in Zooarchaeology under the tutelage of Dr. Walter E. Klippel. While attending UT, she had the opportunity to work with Dr. Charles Faulkner on historic sites in Knoxville and with Dr. Gerald Schroedl on the island of St. Kitts in the West Indies. She traveled to St. John in the United States Virgin Islands to do her dissertation research on an early 18th century Danish plantation and the associated faunal remains. She has a knack for choosing excellent research locations.
Outside of work, Judy spends time with her husband and two sons. The boys have finally realized that Mom is cool gets to dig in the dirt and look at people’s garbage from “the old timey days”.
