Matthew McMahan

Matthew D. McMahan has more than seven years of practical experience in the field of cultural resource management. He began working for Cultural Resource Analysts, Inc., as an archaeological laboratory and field technician in April 2005. Since 2007, Matthew has served as both an architectural historian and an archaeological field supervisor, working on a variety of projects including phase I archaeological and architectural surveys, rural historic landscape assessments, and National Register of Historic Places nominations.

Matthew holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Western Kentucky University. While attending WKU, he assisted in piloting Mammoth Cave National Park's Archaeological Stewardship Program and worked as a laboratory technician for the University. He also attended the Pennsylvania State University's archaeological field school at Annis Village, a Middle Mississippian site in Butler County, Kentucky, during the 2004 field season. Matthew is currently involved in graduate coursework in the University of Kentucky's Department of Historic Preservation.

Outside of work, Mr. McMahan enjoys hanging out at home with his wife, son, and their house pets; collecting music; cycling; barbecuing; and wandering around in the woods.
