Lisa E. Hopwood, RPA has nine years of archaeology, conservation, and museum experience. She earned her B.A. in underwater archaeology through the Individualized Major Program at Indiana University. She also completed an Underwater Resource Management Certificate at IU while she continued her work with local museums and conservators. Lisa completed her Master’s degree in anthropology at The University of West Florida in 2009 with an emphasis in maritime archaeology and conservation. She expanded her conservation skills by working with professional conservators, preserving historic cemeteries and buildings in Florida and Virginia.

Lisa has been employed as a Staff Archaeologist I at CRA since 2011. Her previous employment includes work as a Field Director, Crew Chief, and Senior Field Technician for various projects in Texas, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, and West Virginia. Her maritime experience includes work in Florida, Texas, the Caribbean, and Africa, and comprises water survey, shipwreck mapping, artifact documentation, and underwater excavation. 

Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time on the family Christmas tree farm, having game nights with friends, or just lounging with her two cats and reading a book. She also likes outdoor and water activities, including camping, boating, scuba diving, cooking out, and hiking.
