Tom has worked in contract archaeology throughout Western Canada, the Northwest Territories as well as New Mexico, Washington State, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming and Texas for over 29 years.

Since the early 1990’s Tom has been responsible for conducting Class III Cultural Resource Inventories and the subsequent report writing for over 850,000 acres of land for the United States Forest Service and the Bureau of Land Management, Idaho.

Projects he has worked on which required direct consultation with First Nations or Native Americans include the Nelson Creek Power Development, South Heart Power Development and the Havre to Great Falls Transmission Line in Montana, the Bow Corridor Gas Pipeline, the Siksika Gas Field Development and the Caroline Gas Plant Development in Alberta, the Vancouver Island Oyster Bay excavation and various logging cutblocks along the Sunshine coast of British Columbia.

Tom has conducted artifact analysis for the historic sites component of the Oldman River Dam project and has been responsible for the lithic analyses on a number of projects, including the killsites mitigation for the Oldman River Dam project in Alberta (approximately 80,000 artifacts), Prairie Coal's Mine Expansion in Saskkatchewan (approximately 60,000 lithic artifacts) and Albian Sands Alberta oil sands project (approximately 300,000 lithic artifacts).

Tom’s interest lies in audiophile stereo equipment and is the proud (?) owner of a 1958 Chevrolet Biscayne which he manages to keep under 2,000 rpm with the help of Graham the dog, the cats Pickles and Gary and his wife Cathryn.
