Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit Certification For The Lewis Wolfe Building Georgetown, Kentucky
Project Description: The Federal Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit program administered by the National Park Service offers a federal tax credit of up to 20% for certified rehabilitation expenses for income-producing properties listed in or eligible for the National Register of Historic Places. CRA can assist owners, developers, and architects with preparing Part I, II, and III of the Historic Preservation Certification Application. One project successfully completed by CRA was the rehabilitation of the Lewis Wolfe Building in Georgetown, Kentucky. CRA completed Part I of the application, successfully demonstrating that the building was a contributing resource to the Main Street Commercial Historic District. For Part II, CRA produced elevation drawings and floor plans for the structure, provided the owner with guidance on meeting the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation, prepared the application including the description of proposed work, and took and keyed the required photographs. Once the rehabilitation work was successfully completed, CRA completed Part III of the application and the owner received certification of the completed work.
