Education and Outreach
CRAI has a long-term commitment to education and outreach. We recognize the critical importance of the past and the need to communicate a "sense of place" to the public. This commitment is expressed in several ways. We provide education and training opportunities for students of history, architecture, archaeology and the environment. Through our Internship Program, we provide opportunities for college and university students to receive hands-on training in cultural resource studies. We also seek to foster public education by making many of our professional articles and reports and conference presentations available.
Community Service and Corporate Support
The owners and employees of CRAI believe in community service, giving to those less fortunate, and gifting to worthwhile causes.
Public Education Projects
To educate the public, we provide a variety of educational programs, which range from site tours to hands-on training in history, architecture, and archaeology.
Internship Opportunities in Cultural Resource Management
Established in 1998, the CRAI Internship Program provides students with experience working and learning in a cultural resource management firm. CRAI coordinates the supervision of interns in conjunction with the student's appointed undergraduate or graduate school advisor.
Reports, Publications, and Presentations
Because CRAI believes that archaeological research is ultimatly conducted for the benefit of the public, we make the results of our research available when possible.
CRAI in the News
Several of our projects have received attention from local news organizations. If permission was obtained from our clients and the state or federal agencies involved with the project, we have granted interviews to news reporters. With pride, we reprint some of these news articles here.
Cemetery Database
CRAI recognizes the importance of cemeteries in genealogical and academic research. In this database we have compiled burial information from the many cemeteries surveyed during our projects in Kentucky, Tennessee, West Virginia, Virginia, Ohio, Alabama, and Missouri. Check back for periodic updates.
