CRAI Staff Teaches Russell Cave Elementary About Archaeology
Lexington CRAI staffers Jenny Taylor-Tijou and Randy Cooper, recently took a trip to Russell Cave Elementary to talk to the 4th graders about the prehistory of Kentucky. They spoke to a group of bright, insightful kids who were sincerely interested in archaeology. Randy demonstrated tool making techniques and Jenny gave an overview of the lives of some of Kentucky's first people. The teachers and children had a great time participating in activities and discussions about the importance of archaeology to our cultural history.
Working with the local school system is a great way for CRAI to contribute to the education of our young people. We hope to continue our education program and participate in bigger and better ways to help our teachers in any way we can.
