CRA Staff Teaches Russell Cave Elementary About Archaeology

Lexington CRA staffers Jenny Taylor-Tijou and Randy Cooper, recently took a trip to Russell Cave Elementary to talk to the 4th graders about the prehistory of Kentucky. They spoke to a group of bright, insightful kids who were sincerely interested in archaeology. Randy demonstrated tool-making techniques and Jenny gave an overview of the lives of some of Kentucky's first people. The teachers and children had a great time participating in activities and discussions about the importance of archaeology to our cultural history.

Working with the local school system is a great way for CRA to contribute to the education of our young people. We hope to continue our program and help our teachers in any way we can.
